Fleeting

The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s song “The Time Warp” came into my mind the moment I saw today’s one-word prompt – Fleeting. It starts off by saying that time is fleeting.

Time as a man-made construct of days, hours and minutes is fleeting. Time as a universal construct isn’t, because hasn’t time been around for ever and will be around for all time 😉 ?

There are many photos of sunsets on this blog and very few of sunrises. This is because I am awake when the sun sets and I try very hard not to wake before the sun rises, if I can help it. Although today was a day I woke before the sun rose and I felt great.

I digress.

The fleeting nature of time as a man-made construct is perfectly illustrated by the rising of the sun (and the setting of the sun too). One moment the sky is rent by a gentle fiery-ness and the next the fresh beauty of the sunrise is gone. However, the rising and setting of the sun is universal – it’s been around for ever and will be around for all time.

I caught the sunrise in the photo below before the fleeting gentle fiery-ness was replaced by the strong yellow orb of the morning sun.

(Riff Raff) It’s astounding
Time is fleeting
Madness takes it’s toll…

(Magenta) Ahh…

(Riff Raff) But listen closely…

(Magenta) Not for very much longer…

(Riff Raff) I’ve got to keep control.
I remember doing the Time Warp.
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me.

(Riff Raff & Magenta) And the void would be calling.

(Guests) Let’s do the Time Warp again.
Let’s do the Time Warp again.
