Hello and welcome to this week’s coffee share. There is the usual coffee and other hot beverages. And today there is chocolate mousse. It’s my Mom’s recipe and it came out so delicious.
Last night Chè and I went to our neighbour for a braai and I took desert. It was amazing being in good company, eating delicious food and having stimulating conversation. We laughed so much, it was great fun.
It’s been an introspective week for me. I’ve spent a lot of time in my head thinking through stuff. Mainly about how Covid has changed my life, how little I see my family now and how my coffee consumption has more than doubled (so there are upsides).
These are the things that I know:
- I know that I want to work from home forever and ever, and I know that is totally possible with the work I do.
- I know that I need people to thrive, and I can’t wait until I feel safe enough to spend my Fridays working in coffee shops again.
- I know that I can do very well with online shopping and never need to go to the shops again. I did all my Christmas shopping all online.
- I know that I can’t wait for my turn to have the vaccine.
- I know that I miss travel.
- I know that reading is the most relaxing activity for me to do.
- I know that our cats love having their humans at home.
- I know that I want to speak and write eloquently and that I have a ways to go.
On Tuesday I went out to buy a new battery for Che’s car.
On Thursday I had training – this time I was the one being trained and it was so much fun.
Pretty much for the whole week I’ve been playing catch-up on the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. Still, I managed to get to N. I’ll do O tomorrow. Check out my posts so far:

That is true. When all is said and done it does outline what they are.
Hi Regina,
I’m so much in agreement with your points above. We miss the people we used to spend time with. We miss going out for meals or casually hanging out and hugging those we know and are happy to see – face to face.
I’ve had some challenges in becoming fearful of the virus and have to work at staying prudent in my ventures out into the world. Here, our government and media have so mismanaged the information given us about the infection or even the death rates that we honestly don’t know how good or bad it’s been.
For many, there was money to be made by over reporting covid related data. Families who lost members were sometimes offered cash for allowing their dead to be recorded as covid related deaths. It’s dishonest to an embarrassing degree .
But, things are beginning to open back up and while they want us to continue masking, I bet those too will soon be set aside.
Enjoy your classes, I know such things can be all to rare.
Sorry for being so late to last weekends share. It was busy here. Blessings.

Hi Gary,
Apologies for the tardiness in replying.
What you mention about families being offered cash to have their dead recorded as Covid related – wow! that is shocking, unbelievably so. There are so many agendas at play and I’m sure many more that people are not aware of.
Things will eventually open up, some countries sooner than others – and as widespread travel resumes I expect more drama about vaccine passports and the like will ensue.
I hope you had a great week!
Regina
I want to work at home, spend time with my cat, read and miss travel too.
Let’s hold thumbs that things will gradually open up this year to enable safe travel to resume.
Thank so much for the coffee! Great post, and I Love the list of the things you know. I’ve never thought of doing this before and it’s a great idea! It’s great you were able to eat and visit with friends. Your chocolate mousse sounds DELICIOUS! Have a wonderful week ahead! ❤️
Thanks Diana. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week since the last coffee share.
Good to hear you had a fun night out at your neighbour’s. Thank you for sharing your introspection. Have a great week ahead! #WeekendCoffeeShare

Thanks Natalie 🙂
I feel the same way about shopping and being at home. It’s not such a bad thing. Just look forward to the freedom of going where I want on my terms without worry.

Oh yes!
A funny thing – because I don’t go out so much… when I do… I forget to take my mask and need to run in the house to get it 🙂
I agree with most of the ups and downs of COVID you list here, except that I already got my vaccine. So glad you were able to enjoy nice food and stimulating discussions.

It’s really great that you have your vaccine already 🙂 I get excited when I hear people have theirs – a light at the end of the tunnel. I know I will eventually get mine, I just need to be patient and wait my turn.
