Hello and here’s wishing you a happy Sunday. Come on in and grab a coffee, tea, whatever beverage you want. If you wait just a few more minutes the bran muffins are almost done. It’s a warm day today the skies are blue and there’s a gentle breeze.
Blogging from A to Z April Challenge
On the blogging front, this week was quite busy. I remembered to sign up for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge only on April 7. Good thing it was still open for entries. This despite me doing a whole theme reveal a couple of weeks ago.
… and about that … I’ve changed my theme. Grammatical Glitches demanded more of me than I had time to give, so I changed the theme to places I’ve visited or passed through.
I’m almost caught up to tomorrow’s letter which is J.
Blogging from A to Z posts – my favourite one is D is for Durban: G is for Ghent F is for Flic en Flac E is for Erawan Falls D is for Durban (Memories) C is for Chiang Mai B is Bangkok A is for Ayutthaya
Someone stole Chè’s car battery!
The backstory: yesterday someone jumped over the wall, jemmied the hood of Chè car and stole the battery! A similar thing happened to our neighbours some time back. This type of petty crime isn’t new in this area. Recently police caught a group of thieves doing this.
Fortunately, they didn’t cut any cables. I called our security company last night warning them of this and they said they’d send more patrol cars to the area. Chè went to the police this morning and the fingerprint techs came out soon after.
Now for the complacent part – Chè forgot to engage the alarm on the car. He locked it with the key but didn’t put the alarm on. And we didn’t have the perimeter alarm on either because it was still early in the evening. I was in the bedroom, closest to where the car was parked on the driveway and I heard nothing! (Chè is out there at the moment checking for damage to the hood’s latch.)
Instant Pot
Should I get one? Hmm … still deciding but it’s certainly so very tempting.

Hi Regina,
Spoiler alert :: The Insta-pot is just a pressure cooker.
My wife wanted one but we already have a pressure cooker that she’s not comfortable using.
Somehow, she’s okay with the Insta-pot.
Not sure I get why, but am sure I’m not going to challenge it.
So I make my bean stews in the pressure cooker.
She does her rice in the Insta-pot.
Both work great but I bet a pressure cooker and separate timer is cheaper.
Hi Gary, thanks for the info. Yeah, I understand it as being a ‘safer’ (barring the steam release part) pressure cooker as it doesn’t need much tinkering during the cooking process, so a lot of people that don’t like the stovetop pot prefer the Instapot. We have a pressure cooker that I’m comfortable using and hubby does all his soups in it.
So sorry about the car battery….so frustrating. I have an instant pot and love it. My favorite thing to cook in them, believe it or not are hard boiled eggs. They come out perfect everytime and peel perfectly. Also baked potatoes, beets, I’ve made soups, etc in it as well.
Hubby now has a new bright purple battery, it looks rather lovely 🙂
Looks like you use the Instant Pot quite a lot.
That stinks about the theft. I hope they catch the thieves. I have an instant pot and I love it. I don’t use it nearly as much as I thought I would though.
There are some wonderful Instant Pot videos on Youtube, it’s quite tempting to get one.
Thank you for the coffee today and you’ve been busy blogging A to Z challenge. I’ve enjoyed your travels and posts! Sorry about the stolen battery, petty theft but still… And I got an instant pot as a gift just over a year ago and they are amazing, but I’ve only used it a few times. If you cook a lot it may be something you enjoy. I work swing shift hours so only cook dinner on the weekends. I guess I could use it for lunch? Or oatmeal maybe for breakfast? Haha, I guess I need to get it out and use it more! Have a wonderful week ahead! ❤️
The A to Z challenge is keeping me busy – I’m only getting to responding today. I saw a video with someone making oatmeal in the Instant Pot – didn’t need much fussing over. With working swing shifts perhaps a slow cooker is better but it does require some planning.
Thank you for your encouragement, I’m glad you’re enjoying the travel posts 🙂
Regina, Well done with your A to Z Challenge! I enjoyed viewing your travel photos. Sorry to hear about the car battery theft. I hope your weekend is going well and you have a great upcoming week! #WeekendCoffeeShare

Thanks Natalie. Hubby now has a brand new battery (it came with a free gift of a camping chair LOL). I’m enjoying the A to Z challenge (a lot of work but fun). Hope you’re having a great week.
I’m sorry about the car battery. This sounds quite frustrating, but thankfully no cables were cut.
I will check your A2Z soon. I’m participating too.
Oh and I think an instant pot sounds cool.

Hi Astrid, I will check your A2Z too 🙂
Instant Pot has marketing almost as good as Nespresso – making it very tempting to get one.
Have an awesome weekend!
Thank you so much! I hope you’re having a great week.
