Sharing my world this week, via Cee’s weekly challenge.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Sitting in the sun, feeling the warmth on my skin, listening to the sounds of nature around me, and feeling the grass underneath. Nothing connects me with the earth more than that simple activity. Even better is if the sounds of nature include running water, or waves crashing on the beach. The feel of sand beneath my feet also brings about a similar feeling of bliss.
In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?
Without a doubt, the driver. I love driving, especially long distances. Driving fast, yes, I love that!
If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be?
- Everyone in the world to have a job, a roof over their heads, safety and security.
- That all children have the basic right of education.
- Everyone to do some form of meditation, from prayer to buddhist to transcendental meditation – it matters not, as long as the whole world did it, just once a day.
I know the question said the wishes should be for me alone. Those would mean that (1) my heart wouldn’t break each time I see a vulnerable person begging on the streets, (2) see number 1 and (3) that I could sleep easily knowing that peace reigned in the world.
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?
I enjoyed attending a Toastmasters meeting again with Che. It has been a while since we went, and I appreciated once again what a quality educational program it has. This set me to thinking about my future and what I want to focus on next. Toastmasters has a role to play.
I also loved the first highveld thunderstorm last night. Thunder boomed, the cats took refuge under the table and the garden was greener this morning than yesterday.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
