Enough is Enough

When is it enough?

When has something reached the end of the road?

When have your overstayed your welcome?

When is it time to let go?

When is enough, enough?

This is probably one of the most difficult things to do. To own one’s “enoughness” and walk away from a situation that is no longer serving you, growing you or nourishing you.

When all the fun and levity have gone.

When it’s sapping all your energy.

When the proverbial little voice starts up, softly at first, and loudly when it’s being ignored.

When the feeling in your gut leaves you trembling with anxiety instead of trembling with excitement.

That is the time to say “Enough is enough”!

To let go, walk away, find something new, a new path…

But sometimes we stay. We hope that things will get better. That someone is going to notice your work, your talent, your effort.

But when you are not part of someone’s plans, nothing is going to change that. It’s time to go, own your slippers and walk away.

Make your own plans. Start a new journey. Tread a new path. Stop waiting for a rescuer, someone to come and blow your nose, someone to feed your self-pity.

We’ve been conditioned to never quit. Because quitting is bad. Quitting means that we’re not reliable. That we have lost.

But in actual fact, to walk away is to put YOU first. And that is not losing. That is winning.

The moment those first feelings of doubt start making themselves felt, tentative they may be, that is the time to acknowledge them and act on them. No more time to waste.

My future is waiting.

Enough is enough!
