Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Walking Paths and Trails

Cee's topic for this week is Paths and Trails.  It can be a walking path or trail of any kind, long or short or paved or dirt, it can contain steps.  Anything goes as long as it was meant to be walked on.

Mostly wooden walkways, the one below leads travellers down the pier to the boats on Lake St. Lucia, taking them on a cruise to the hippopotami, crocodiles and elephants in the reserve.

This path is meant for walking and driving and zebra crossings…

On the boat on Lake St. Lucia, it is clear that the drought has lowered the water levels significantly.

The best view – access to the beach.

Storms have eroded the dune thereby collapsing the pavement. Workmen are on site fixing in time for the October school holidays. It was an incongruous sight to see an earth moving machine on the beach, which was closed to the public.

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Circles and Curves

Well hello again, and welcome to this week’s contribution to Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge. The theme is Circles and Curves.

Before I move on to this week’s challenge, I want to say that I’m so pleased to be one of the featured bloggers in last week’s black and white photo challenge. Thank you Cee! You can click here to see those photos. At the bottom of this post I have put the links to the other featured bloggers. Please pay them a visit and admire their wonderful photos.

Now for this week’s challenge…keep on reading and scrolling down…

Circles and curves are everywhere, nature, at home, on the road. It’s such a universal shape, representing the totality of life, the infinite nature of the universe and the perfection of perpetual motion.

Commitment between people is symbolised with the exchange of rings, a never ending circle, representing a bond that is supposed to last forever.

Now the photos I present here are not of rings. Scroll down to see what I’ve come up with this week.

Intertwining circles made of metal, a lovely piece of art that I wish I had hanging in my garden.

I wonder what is just around that curve?

Ag shame, I wonder if that grasshopper knows that it can jump right out of the circle of grass and thus escape to freedom…?
