BLOGGING FROM A TO Z: B IS FOR Bangkok

We’re still in Thailand. B is for Bangkok – today’s journey on 2021’s Blogging from A to Z Challenge.

Bangkok is a riot!

Do people still say that? Anyway, that’s the word I associate with this city. It’s huge with beautiful skyscrapers, each one vying with the next for the most gorgeous light displays.

It’s noisy, busy, with night markets trading until late, and traffic 24/7. It was fascinating watching the taxis navigate this intersection in front of the train station.

Wat Traimit and the Golden Buddha

In the middle of the busyness, we found refuge from the soft rain in Wat Traimit, a temple in which the 5.5 tones Golden Buddha sits, serenely looking down upon barefooted worshippers.

Look, a love club!

And look what we found on the ground floor of our hotel… I don’t think ‘love’ is what happens there (maybe in a manner of speaking) and no, we didn’t go in.

Wat Pho and the Reclining Buddha

Wat Pho is the slightly more famous temple, at least according to the guidebooks. The temple complex is larger and is home to the Reclining Buddha, all of 46 metres long.

Canal tour

We rounded the day off with a canal ride; it was so sad to see the levels of pollution on the water.

We spent 2 nights in Bangkok, not nearly enough to see it all. Something to look forward to …

Yesterday’s post was also a Thailand one – A is for Ayutthaya.

Which Way Challenge: October 25, 2018

This challenge is about “capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, signs, etc. we move from one place to another on” and it’s hosted by sonofabeach96. So here is my offering of which ways for this week.

Which way do I go? So many ways…tropical pathway leading to lush gardens, the pool, and eventually the beach
