I’m sitting in an Airbnb preparing for day 1 of Block 1 of the Social Entrepreneurship programme. There is a WHOLE lot of reading to do before each module. It starts tomorrow with site visits. My group is going to visit Jonathan Liebmann, The Maverick of Maboneng, as Kerryn Krige and Gus Silber describe him in their book The Disruptors (click on the link to download a chapter from the book).
It’s raining outside. It’s been raining pretty much continuously for almost 24 hours. Tomorrow promises to be the same. It’s a good thing because our dams are filling up and hopefully relieving some of the drought.
I’ve just watched this TEDx video of Kerryn Krige speaking about The Future is Social Entrepreneurship.
(Kerryn Krige heads up the Network for Social Entrepreneurs at the Gordon Institute of Business Science).
Until tomorrow.
I was part of the curators working on the TEDxJohannesburg Kerryn is giving. An amazing book and equally social entrepreneurs…
Ah yes! Hopefully I will be able to attend…I’m reading The Disruptors at the moment and am surrounded in my class by amazing social entrepreneurs. I have a lot to learn.
