Writing 201: Poetry – Haiku

The tears fall softly

like translucent rivulets

of sorrow and pain

Water, soft, silky

flowing over my body

a gentle caress

 Spidery doodles

web around the photograph

like a frame of hate

Haiku is a Japanese poetic form consisting of 5 lines, each line containing five, seven, and five syllables, respectively.
