Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun…as promised, this post is dedicated to this most wonderful of Indian sweet. No other dessert compares (except maybe for my Mom’s chocolate mousse). I had loads of it! Tons of it! Everyday I had my fix of spicy chai and gulab jamun. It is now a standing joke amongst my colleagues.

The photo above is of my gulab jamun, moments before I ate it all 🙂 – unashamedly unshared.

It is made of a dough composed of milk solids, mixed with flour, deep fried, and rolled in a thin sugar syrup. I particularly loved it when it was topped with crushed pistachio nuts. It is usually served at weddings.

This being the case, it was a wedding for me every day.
