Weekend Coffee Share: The December Edition 2024 Style

Well, it’s been a while since I last posted. My last post was in 2023 and so much has happened since. Welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share: The December Edition 2024 Style.

The main reason for keeping away from blogging is time, or lack of much spare time. When I did have spare time, I escaped to my books – reading has always been a relaxing thing for me.

Recently though I’ve felt that something was missing – writing, blogging for me, personal reasons. I’ve written a lot but for professional reasons.

In 2022 I became a business owner – I may have mentioned it in a post a long time ago. And that has taken up a lot of my time. The boundaries between work and home are porous. However, is it really work when I love what I do – my job, running the company, training, coaching, meeting new people, travelling…?

So, yes, that’s what’s been happening.

My blogging aim for 2025

My aim is to post once a week and the Weekend Coffee Share is as good a place as any. I’ve always loved this community that is kind, authentic and so much fun.

Now for the coffee… oh gosh! I haven’t offered you any yet. So come in and grab the hot or cold beverage of your choice. It’s hot here in Joburg so I’m enjoying a cold one.

I’m having a Nespresso latte, Vienna origin. What ever has become of the Ethiopian capsules – they’ve completely disappeared from the ZA shop.

Christmas 2024

Christmas was a quiet affair. We spent Christmas Day with my folks. The next day was Chè’s birthday and we spent it quietly at home. Just how we like it; we’ve become more hermit-like and prefer to stay at home, with our cats, books, Netflix shows, good coffee and good food.

I’ve been experimenting with the new airfryer – so far I’ve used it to make frittata and grilled cheese. I know I can make a whole lot more and I’m trying things out. The slow cooker is still my favourite because I can dump and go, and it’s good to try new things, so I know I’ll get the hang of the airfryer in no time.

The weather has been hot with thunderclouds and the occasional storm which is making the sunsets absolutely spectacular. It hasn’t rained much yet and we are need it so much. January and February will be the rainy months this summer season.

This is it for this week. Next time we meet it will be 2025, a good number.

Wishing you an amazing New Year’s eve and day. Until then!
