Michio Kaku is a well known physicist who often appears on Discovery Channel and National Geographic. He’s popularised science with his practical approach and explanations that even someone who doesn’t have university level science and maths can understand.
I especially like this quote from one of his books. To me it’s all about hopes and dreams, and getting support for them, no matter how far-fetched they may seem to those around you.
And to those of us listening to other people’s hopes and dreams, it is about respecting them, and encouraging them, no matter how far fetched they may seem.
One never knows who they may become and what may seem like an over-the-top idea could solve a global problem.
It was Nelson Mandela who said that something is only impossible until it’s done.
So when someone comes to you with an over-the-top idea just say, “Sure. Why not?”
And when you have an over-the-top idea? Find people who’ll say “Sure. Why not?”

Sure… why not??
Thanks for following OMBH… I hope you fine a smile or two when you visit! 😉
Thank you!
Thank you Regina. Today I needed to hear, “sure, why not”!
But this is also a reminder to do the same for others.
Thanks Maretha! It’s too true, we need to do the same for others. Maybe out of all the “Sure, why nots?” we say to others, a few will come our way 🙂
I’m borrowing the image for One-Liner Wednesday, and giving you credit. This is great!
