Weekend Coffee Share: Photos And More Photos

Good morning from a cold and rainy Joburg. Come in off the cold and into my cozy lounge as we catch up over coffee.

If we were having coffee, we’d go through the photos I took with my phone this week and let them tell the story.

Monday was the last day in my coaching engagement in the Joburg CBD. I’m starting a new one this coming week in another location. I’m going to miss the CBD.

I entered the iPhoneography competition. It’s the first time I did it for the learning experience. My pics are still two-dimensional and I can improve the way I frame them. I’m following a few great iPhoneographers on Instagram and am learning from them. I’ve also downloaded Snapseed and VSCO Cam. I still prefer Instagram though, I’ve been using it for a while so it’s what I know best. I’m starting to like Snapseed – the photo above was edited with it.

Check out the pics I entered in the iPhoneography competiton. My Instagram handle is reginatmartins.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I was very chuffed that my post was chosen as one of the featured posts in Cee’s Which Way Challenge: In Franschoek. It’s always so much fun entering Cee’s photo challenges.

Yesterday I spent playing with my cute nephew, he of the swallowed 10c coin.  The photo below was edited with Snapseed as well.

I have no major plans for next week other than preparing for the workshop I’m doing at the Scrum Gathering in October. That’s major enough.

    1. It’s not mastermind, it’s a grid with a whole lot of coloured pieces with which to “draw” pictures. I asked him to “draw” me a number 4 :-). I love mastermind and my niece does too, so I play it with her when I visit.

  1. Hi Regina, I must say your photos are brilliant whats more to learn that you took them on your iphone was encouraging. I take all my photos with my smart phone, as you may be aware I am not a great photographer I wish I could be able to be more creative with it.
What makes me use my smart phone is that it ‘s

easy to share them on most of social media, I had such problems trying to share my photos from my camera to any where else. Your photos left feeling a bit nostalgic. Thanks.

    1. Oh yes, they make it so much easier to share photos on social media. Have you tried Instagram? It’s really cool. I follow a few great photographers and I try to imitate their photos so that I can learn from them in that way. The key is to keep taking photos, that’s what a professional photographer friend of mine once said, and practice does indeed make better. Thank you for your lovely comment, I understand your nostalgia.
